The league or covenant, which the Lord makes with His people, is the agreement that rests upon conditions—conditions of support and protection on His part, and of fidelity and obedience on theirs. (Works of faith and labors of love) This league is made before Jehovah, when the Church, individually or collectively, acknowledges the Divinity of the Lord in His Humanity.

It is eternally absolute of our Lord’s character to be supportive and provide protection.  (Deut 32:11 & 12, Ruth 2:12, Psalms 17:8, 36:7, 57:1, 63:7, and 91:4)

It is with our faithful heart service of fidelity and obedience.  In other words our will, affections and desires have to be involved in actions (works) according to the thoughts we have.  (Proverbs 24:12, Jer. 25:14, Matt 16:27, Rev 2:23, 20:12 & 13)

Paul indicates in Romans 10:6-17 how we acknowledge the Divinity of our Lord in His Humanity and it is not with lip service that we should come to acknowledge Him.  (Isa. 29:13, Eze. 33:31, Matt. 15:7-9)

Those thoughts come from hearing the word of God. (Rom 10:17) My sheep hear my voice, I know them and they do follow; they that hear the voice of the Son of God shall live. (John 10:27, 5:25) Who hears His voice initially are those that are dead and sleeping. What those that hear choose to do with it are another matter.  Some fail in their choice to understand and it is removed, (Matt 13:19) some with stony hearts have no will, affections or desire to support the word. (Matt 13:20 & 21)  Others are so involved in choosing the love of the world and love of self they prevent or suppress the word’s growth within them.  (Matt 13:22)  Then there are those with whom their heart (will, affections and desires) see and perceive, hear and understand with their heart, bringing forth the fruit of the Spirit. (Matt 13:23, Gal 5:22 & 23, Eph 5:9-11)
